macOS Catalina Stuck on first boot

Description
I downloaded macOS Catalina .vmdk Disk Image and followed every step carefully. However whenever I start the VM, it gets stuck saying "BdsDxe: Starting Boot0002 ..." and then nothing happens.

No idea what's inside the VMDK (Apple does not ship their OS in this format). Not motivated to help with violating Apple's licensing conditions.
