Impossible to copy files or dir beginning with a dot from guest to host, the 2 ones being Windows machines.

This is the summary of several existing tickets : #17859, #17067, #16762.
Can you explain why you had to open yet another duplicate then? Agreed that there are multiple tickets out there, and some should be closed as "[Duplicate]", including this one, it adds practically nothing to the discussion.

Windows 10 (1809) and previous versions do not allow file names starting with dot and without an extension. You can have a file named ".name.txt" but not ".name" However, Microsoft seems to have fixed this in Windows 19H1, to be released in March 2019.
