VirtualBox VM 5.2.10_Ubuntu r121806 linux.amd64 (Apr 26 2018 08:49:04) release log

It looks like you're using the distro's fork version of VirtualBox. You can either ask in their forums for help, or completely remove/uninstall/delete/purge their version and install the official version from the Downloads section of VirtualBox.

00:00:00.474453 File system of '/home/francesco/.VirtualBox/VBoxGuestAdditions_5.2.10.iso' (DVD) is ext4

Do not download the Guest Additions (GAs) separately from the main program, they come bundled with the main program.

Finally, may I suggest something? It's usually better and faster, if issues get first addressed in the VirtualBox forums. More than 95% of the issues are resolved over there, which keeps the developers focusing on the bug fixes and enhancements, and there is no need for another ticket to keep track of. For example, yours is most probably not a bug and someone from the developers has to deal with it and close it as "Invalid".

Glad you got it going! I guess the ticket can be closed as ... Invalid | WorksForMe ?

I'll let the admins figure it out... :D
