Again, which Linux distribution is this? I don't see any problem on Ubuntu 13.10 and Debian 7.0. Also, did you use packages from this website or did you compile VirtualBox yourself?

CentOS i686 6.5 with a custom Qt built (basically 4.8.5 vanilla).
I can upload this Qt version for you to try to reproduce this bug.

Actually I don't see the point in reproducing the problem with a custom-built Qt. We use Qt 4.7.4 compiled with default settings for CentOS 6 and I didn't see such reports elsewhere. So why don't you use the VBox packages from download.virtualbox.org?

You didn't get me.
I use the official VBox binaries from virtualbox.org

I only have a newer Qt version (compiled from the official sources with a few patches applied) because CentOS 6.5 contains a rather outdated one.

Here's my Qt 4.8.5 build for CentOS 6.5 i686.
sha1sum bug12753.tar.xz 596b986462fcb3947def378ad1ce97882a62f0e6 bug12753.tar.xz
Along with the instructions how to set it up and all the patches I applied on top of qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.8.5.tar.gz.
I have many other Qt4 applications and none of them have any visual problems/glitches.

Right, sorry. But then I still don't see the point in debugging your issue. Either use the Qt version provided by CentOS 6 or switch to a Linux distribution which provides a newer Qt version. We just don't have time to support such mixed configurations.

OK, you may close this bug report then.
I will try to reproduce it in e.g. Fedora 20 to see if it applies there.

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
What's broken, the menu? Which Linux distribution? I don't think this is a 4.3.8 regression.
