libQtGui segfault crash

Description
On ubuntu precise (testing) the latest VirtualBox just aborted with no Error indication in the logfile of the vm. It shows this via dmesg:
VirtualBox[3936]: segfault at 0 ip 00007fb8bc6499bc sp 00007fff154a4db0 error 6 in libQtGui.so.4.8.0[7fb8bc367000+a81000]
So the GUI crashed. (only the Window running the VM terminated, the VirtualBox Window survived) Why does the GUI tear down otherwise perfectly fine running VM?
